1. Advantages of sage: Whilst herbal medicine is becoming more and more popular, many people still only know the plants in commercial herbal teas such as chamomile and verbena. But we know that herbal medicine can promote well-being and weight loss.
Sage and more particularly the officinal sage (Salvia officinalis), is one of these medicinal plants that can naturally and gently help to eliminate unwanted pounds, especially because of its detoxifying, digestive, and diuretic properties.
But that's not all because, in addition to acting on fat, sage is also relaxing and rich in many minerals, vitamins, and trace elements, essential elements when following a weight loss program. What's more, according to the ancients, it also brings wisdom!
2. How to consume sage: No need to be a homeopath to use sage properly: it is a medicinal plant that is consumed mainly in herbal tea. The latter can be prepared with a teaspoon of sage to 250 ml of water, let infuse for about ten minutes. But beware, whilst it is easy to use, don't get carried away! It is recommended that you seek the advice of a health professional such as a pharmacist, homeopath or herbalist to obtain personalised tips for weight loss.
In general, it should be noted that it is better not to consume more than two herbal teas per day and not to exceed fifteen days of treatment.
3. Side effects of sage: As natural as it is, sage remains a plant with benefits, but also side effects; that is why the opinion of a professional is required before starting the treatment. First, you should know that sage is harmful when taken in excess, and totally prohibited during pregnancy because of the risk of miscarriage. It is also not suitable for lactating women and epileptics. Finally, it is not recommended for people suffering from any pathology of the nervous system or renal failure.
