Shannen is still filming despite her illness
Last year, Shannen Doherty celebrated her TV comeback with the old gang as Brenda Walsh in the popular TV show Beverly Hills 90210. This show was a long-awaited reunion of the former teen idols that won the hearts of millions of fans around the world in the early 90s.
But as Shannen recently revealed in an interview with ABC News, the actress already knew about the diagnosis while she was filming last year: stage 4 cancer. But she kept her illness a secret from her colleagues and friends on the set of 90210 and only her closest friend Brian Austin Green was let in on the secret. She said that thanks to his support, she managed to get through the filming process.
Her condition is already quite advanced
This was a shock for the 48-year-old actress.
‘I don’t think I’ve processed it.’Stage 4 cancer means that her cancer has already progressed and has spread throughout her body. But the actress is trying to find a way to live with this heavy blow:
‘It's a bitter pill to swallow in a lot of ways. I definitely have days where I say, ‘Why me?’ And then I go, ‘Well, why not me? Who else? Who else besides me deserves this?’
Shannen is a fighter
Despite everything, Shannen continues to work,sometimes up to 16 hours a day. With her positive attitude, the star is hoping to encourage other people not to give up, because this isn’t an option for the fighter.
‘Our life doesn’t end the minute we get that diagnosis. We still have some living to do.’
