‘There's my belly, y’all!'
In her story, the 25-year-old top model took the opportunity to justify her absence from social media over recent weeks:
Obviously, my pregnancy is not the most important thing going on in the world. That’s a reason that I felt that it’s not really something that I need to share apart from with my family and friends. Obviously, a lot of people have lost lives due to coronavirus, that was in the beginning of quarantine and still happening.
‘Black Lives Matter’, the final straw
On top of the COVID-19 pandemic, the American top model also explained another reason she took a break from Instagram:
Into the reemergence of the BLM movement, and I thought that our presence on social media should be used for that. […] I just don’t want to worry about waking up every day during my pregnancy and worry about having to look cute or post something.
An emotional confession that shone a spotlight on this top model’s philosophical reflections in these incredibly trying times.
When the baby is born, will Gigi Hadid shine a spotlight on her life as a new mother like the Kardashian family has previously done?
Stay tuned to find out.
