A twice-abandoned dog ‘accidentally’ gets his home back; watch him reunite with his long-lost dad (VIDEO)

Goose has been through a lot since he was born. An injury, a missing ear, and two failed adoptions. No wonder he was howling all the time. But this pup got his happy ending, at last, when his dad, absolutely by accident, found his way back to him. Watch Goose stop his loud grieving as he sees his long-lost owner again.

Abandoned twice

When Adopt An ANGEL rescued Goose as an injured puppy, he howled after being separated from his mum.

He was ‘crying out loud’ after his first adoptive family brought him back as an adult too.

The dog was famous for being the loudest animal at the facility, and the staff got used to his never-ending deep, howl-like bark, the Dodo writes.

Shelter director Jill Jones said:

He’s got a hound bark that could seriously win contests.

According to Jill, Goose’s barks reflected his feelings. He would scream when feeling anxious and abandoned and go quiet when happy.

Goose’s howls were even louder after he was adopted but, sadly, was left back for the third time. The young couple, his new parents, suddenly separated, and one of them dropped Goose at the shelter back without telling the other.

A happy coincidence

Goose’s dad moved to Florida and had no idea about the dog’s return to the facility. The North Carolina-based rescue didn’t know the owner was out there either.

Staff members knew the pup desperately needed a forever home family, so they brought him to an adoption fair.

By happy coincidence, one of Goose’s dad’s best friends attended an event and couldn’t believe his eyes when he spotted a familiar dog. The pup had one ear missing since he was a ‘baby’ and could be easily recognized among other canines.

Goose’s dad didn’t waste a minute after he found out his furry friend was out there. The man was determined to get his dog out of the shelter and get him home.

Reunited with his dad

Less than four days later, Goose’s dad was on his way to reunite with his long-lost pup. When the relentless howler saw his owner again, he went completely quiet.

Jill Jones said:

It was like he was saying, ‘I know that my people are here, so there’s no need to scream. I was only screaming for my people.’

Goose didn’t make a sound, but you could see from his excited jumps that the pup was in dog heaven.

After their heartwarming reunion, Goose and his dad set off on their first road trip together to Florida. This dog suffered so much but found his happy ending at last.
