Adam Kinzinger describes Donald Trump's body odour
The former GOP lawmaker, Adam Kinzinger, first ignited rumours of Donald Trump's bad body odour in a tweet last year, shared on Twitter (now X). He wrote:
I’m genuinely surprised how people close to Trump haven’t talked about the odour. It’s truly something to behold. Wear a mask if you can.
A week later, in December 2023, he was invited on the MeidasTouch Network to elaborate on his thoughts about the former president's particular scent. And, oh boy, did Adam Kinzinger deliver. The former Republican explained:
It’s not good. The best way to describe it... take armpits, ketchup, a butt and makeup and put that all in a blender and bottle that as a cologne.
That’s kind of that. I’ve been amazed that everybody is just kind of learning about this now.
The topic blew up on social media, with many people tweeting with the hashtag #TrumpSmellsBad, which included millions of posts by thousands of people. A comedian called Kathy Griffin said:
The Donald has a distinct smell. It’s like body odour with a scented makeup product.
Adam Kinzinger was invited to the Jimmy Kimmel Live! late-night show in September 2024. Of course, the former GOP lawmaker was asked about his thoughts on Donald Trump's body odour and bad breath. Jimmy Kimmel asked 'Is that the Trump formula?'. To which, he answered:
A little bit of a pungent odour, I would say. You definitely wouldn’t want to bottle it up and wear Trump cologne.
He also said many people know about the former president's smell, but they are afraid to talk about it, but he added that it was obviously noticeable. He experienced it first-hand, as he explained:
He’d invite all of us into the Oval Office all the time, and it’s hard to avoid that.
Donald Trump's team fought back
However, Donald Trump's team has chosen to fight back these allegations by attacking Adam Kinzinger directly, and stooping down the level of the conversation to an ever lower level. The cabinet said:
Adam Kinzinger farted on live TV and is an unemployed fraud.
The former president's team called the ex-lawmaker a 'sad individual', and attacked him on a personal level. They added:
He has disgraced his country and disrespects everyone around him because he is a sad individual who is mad about how his miserable life has turned out.
Adam Kinzinger was a convinced Republican for years before he switched sides. Indeed, he endorsed the Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris, and he even appeared at the Democratic National Convention in August 2024.
