Quinta Brunson files for divorce after three years
E! News obtained court documents filed by the actress on 19 March 2025, claiming she is now filing for divorce from her soon-to-be ex-husband Kevin Jay Anik, after three years spent together. Quinta Brunson reportedly stated that the reason for the couple's divorce was 'irreconcilable differences', but she did not specify which ones, at least in these filings. The documents report that the couple had signed a postnuptial agreement, which means all their properties should be divided as arranged by the contract. For now, the details of that agreement remain a mystery. Quinta Brunson also allegedly requested that both the actress and her husband should pay for their respective legal fees. Neither party has commented on the news yet.
Quinta Brunson and Kevin Jay Anik got married in a very private ceremony in October 2021. The 35-year-old actress had subtly confirmed the engagement in July 2020, when she posted a picture of her left hand, adorned by a diamond ring, along with the caption 'More good news'. She did not publicly acknowledge the couple had got married until 2022, when she referred to Kevin Jay Anik as her 'husband' during her winning Emmy speech. She said:
I need to thank my wonderful husband, because he's the most supportive man I've ever known.
The actress often praised her husband for his support
Despite living her relationship under the radar, Quinta Brunson often praised her husband for his continuous support during public speeches or interviews. During an interview with Business Insider in 2022, the actress explained Kevin Jay Anik was her 'biggest support' and she thanked him for never making her dim her achievements, unlike some of her previous partners. She explained:
That allows me to love him fully, and be the person that I want to be, and am meant to be.
He was often pictured accompanying his wife on several events where her talent and her career were being recognized. The couple appeared together at the Time 100 Gala in July 2022, where the actress was being honoured.
