Here’s what’s happening with Alison Hammond’s niece
According to MailOnline, Alison’s niece Jasmine,23, underwent a life-saving heart transplant 12 years ago after being diagnosed with Kawasaki disease aged three. Alison revealed on This Morning:
My niece is going through cancer and she's going through some really aggressive chemo.
Obviously as an auntie I just want to know if she's going to be affected by this because, I know they have other doctors on, but I just want to know if she's going to be alright.
Kawasaki or mucocutaneous lymph node syndrome disease is a condition that mainly affects children under the age of five. Under this condition ‘the blood vessels become inflamed and swollen, which can lead to complications in the blood vessels that supply blood to the heart (coronary arteries).’ Alison added:
She was the sickest girl in the UK at that point so she went straight to the top of the list to get a new heart.
You just worry and there's millions of other people who are worried too.
Jasmine, who almost died after a heart attack in 2011, was the first patient at Birmingham Children's Hospital to get a heart transplant.

What is the Junior doctors strike all about?
The industrial action will result in up to 47,600 medics refusing to deliver any medical care, including in A&E and cancer wards. This comes as NHS waiting lists currently stand at a record high of 7.4 million.
The junior doctors are on strike until Tuesday at 7 am as they demand an ‘an inflation-busting 35 per cent pay rise as part of a one-year deal or 49 per cent over two years.’ Consultants are also planning to go on strike on July 20 and 21, however, they will deliver urgent and emergency care during that time.
