The source tip that changed it all
In his long and decorated career, Jann Wenner, the co-founder of renowned magazine Rolling Stone, shared some really startling celebrity stories that he has witnessed during the course of his career. And famous names like Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt feature in it, too.
In his upcoming memoir, titled Like A Rolling Stone, he talked how when he used to own Us Weekly for a period of time, back in 2005, a photographer working with Us Weekly informed him that he had received a tip that Angelina Jolie was spending her time at a resort on the coast of Africa with Brad Pitt by her side, reports Page Six.
At that time, Brad Pitt was still married to Jennifer Aniston.
‘The tipster was Angelina’
Wenner then goes on to write in his memoir that it was Angelina Jolie herself who had informed the paparazzi about the opportunity of a ‘first chance’ to photograph her and new love Brad Pitt, who later went on to be called Brangelina while he was still married to his now ex-wife Jennifer Aniston.
The hot and sizzling couple, who had worked together on the movie Mr. and Mrs. Smith and are rumoured to have started their affair on set, had rumour mills buzzing with stories of them being an off-screen item too. However, no one confirmed anything at the time.
According to the anecdote shared by Wenner, the photographer was not only provided with details of where the then-alleged couple was staying but also he had knowledge about the time of their daily walk, which was of course, provided to him. A small suggestion was added to the tip, saying they could be ‘secretly’ photographed.
After being tipped off by Angelina herself. Wenner said, 'we got the photo, we got the proof,' of the 2005 photo.
‘We had the worldwide scoop, the debut of Brangelina’, writes Wenner in his soon-to-be-released memoir Rolling Like A Stone. He concluded:
‘The tipster was Angelina’
Angelina Jolie is yet to comment on these unsubstantiated accusations.
