What is House of Hammer about?

On September 2, a three-part documentary on Discovery+, titled House of Hammer, revealed all the dirty family secrets that has been long buried inside the Hammer household. Casey Hammer, Armie’s own aunt, isone of the producers in the series.

During an interview with Daily Beast, right before the docuseries started to stream globally, Casey alleged that she let her father ‘hold a .357 Magnum to her temple every hour’ and then he would force her to open her eyes so he could check she wasn’t possessed by aliens.

Casey Hammer revealed that after her grandfather died, it was her responsibility in the family to ‘babysit’ her father.

According to Casey Hammer, her and Armie Hammer’s father regularly abused cocaine and meth that led to his increasingly violent behaviour towards her.

She said:

‘I know my grandfather had a dark side, but I saw my father’s dark side first-hand… now it’s Armie Hammer’

She had also revealed that when reports of rape and abuse against the Call Me By Your Name actor started to surface, she was not one bit surprised.

‘Every generation in my family has been involved in dark misdeeds, and it just gets worse and worse and worse,’ added Casey Hammer.

What is Armie Hammer doing now?

On May 31, 2021, Armie Hammer checked into a rehab program in an in-patient facility for drug, alcohol, and sex issues, as reported by Vanity Fair.

Now, following his stint in rehab at Cayman Islands, which was, as per another report by Vanity Fair, paid for by Hollywood A-Lister Robert Downey Jr., Hammer is now back in the United States.

At the time of the scandal, Hammer was dropped from his agency, WME, and films as well as Broadway productions, including Shotgun Wedding alongside Jennifer Lopez. About Shotgun Wedding, Hammer had said at the time:

‘I’m not responding to these bullshit claims but in light of the vicious and spurious online attacks against me, I cannot in good conscience now leave my children for 4 months to shoot a film in the Dominican Republic.’

Armie Hammer spotted in Cayman Islands

It has been reported that Hammer was staying in Cayman Islands with his estranged wife Elizabeth Chambers and their two children, but was spotted by Page Six in Southern California in August of 2022 sporting new tattoos.

Just recently, People also reported that Armie Hammer has been cut off from his family's fortune. The source told the magazine:

‘His dad won't help him anymore and he's been cut off, so he got to work.’

Rumors even started to spread that Armie Hammer was selling timeshares in the Cayman Islands, but that was never confirmed.
