And among the anecdotes and other memories, the director told a little-known story: the way Osama Bin Laden worshipped the heroine of Bodyguard.
Abduction and a villa
This information was revealed in 2012, when the poet Kola Boof, who claims to have lived with the former leader of Al-Qaeda, published her memoirs. In Kola Boof's Diary of a Lost Girl: The Autobiography Of Kola Boof, she tells how Osama Bin Laden had a passion for Whitney Houston.
According to the author, he wanted to go to the United States to meet the singer, and even planned to offer her a villa in Khartoum, Sudan. Kola Boof wrote in her memoirs:
He was always ready to talk about Whitney Houston. He said that she was beautiful, that she had a great smile, that she was really Islamic, but that she had been brainwashed.
But the former leader of Al-Qaeda had even gone further. In the Journal du dimanche, Kevin MacDonald explains:
A former wife revealed in her memoirs that he harboured an obsession for Whitney to such an extent that he wanted to send an assassin to America to kill Bobby Brown [her husband of the time, editor's note] and kidnap her!
In the end, Osama Bin Laden was not able to implement his plan before being killed in May 2011.
