Bradley Walsh given a massive pay raise by ITV for The Chase
Bradley—who was embroiled in fake news that claimed he was dead earlier this year—has become an ITV staple over the years. His hosting skills are irreplaceable and the network bosses completely agree. To ensure he remains at the helm of The Chase, Walsh has reportedly been offered a staggering £4 million annual deal, reports Mirror.
The raise is a substantial increase of £500,000 a year. This move came during contract negotiations, with ITV reportedly worried he might leave the show. A source told The Sun:
Bradley is one of the network’s most popular presenters and is hugely likeable. During negotiations for his contract to be renewed, bosses at ITV were concerned he might quit if he wasn’t happy with his package. There was a real concern he might walk away.
It is understood that Walsh will be returning to The Chase for its 16th edition next year. The insider added:
The Chase is returning for its 16th year and Bradley is a much-valued host. Everyone at the show is delighted.
Bradley himself has spoken fondly about The Chase on many occasions. He previously emphasised its feel-good appeal and remarked:
Our show is uplifting and fun—it’s what sets us apart from others.
Bradley Walsh’s eye-watering net worth
The £500K will surely be a bump to his already significant net worth. Reports peg his fortune at around £18.6 million as of 2023. Much of this stems from his work on The Chase and other TV hits like Beat the Chasers, Blankety Blank, and Breaking Dad.
Walsh also owns a production company, Wingit Production Limited, with his wife of almost 30 years, Donna. The company has also seen remarkable growth. In just two years, its value surged from £14.5 million to nearly £20 million. According to the its filings, the company added £1.3 million last year alone. Meaning, Walsh earns approximately £25,000 per week from his ventures.
His investments don’t stop at TV. Walsh has diversified his investments into property, stocks, and shares, further boosting his wealth. His portfolio also includes lucrative contracts with both ITV and BBC, including last year’s reboot of Gladiators, which he co-hosted with his son Barney Walsh.
