At just 22 years old, Camila Cabello already has a pretty remarkable music career. She had already been making music for seven years when she appeared on the X-Factor and although she wanted to be a solo artist, she was placed in the band known as Fifth Harmony. Four years later, her dream finally came true and she started making her own music.
‘I am very dramatic’
Her current album is called Shameless and her songs are a little darker than those you usually hear in the charts. In an interview with NME, the singer even said that she is ‘the most emo person ever.’
Just like her new album, the singer finds that she herself is often very dramatic and has openly admitted that. She is not afraid to share her opinions with other people, and she proved that recently when she fell victim to body-shaming.
Criticism made about her cellulite
Both gossip columns and internet trolls have been criticising her because of her cellulite. But then, just like her colleague Selena Gomez, who has also been criticised for her body, she stood up to the haters on Instagram. Now she is thinking about things little differently:
‘Well, I think I just had my feelings really hurt at first. And then I was like, ‘Wait a second, I’m being body-shamed for having cellulite. That’s just the most normal thing in the world – that’s just a woman’s body.’
Reality vs Photoshop
The 22-year-old also says that pretty much everyone has cellulite in real life. She even says that far too many people have gotten used to seeing pictures that have been photoshopped or edited in some other way and everyone only sees the perfect image of a person online and no longer the real person. This troubles the singer tremendously.
Camila believes that editing photos is okay as long as you understand and consider that this doesn’t represent or show reality. Furthermore, she doesn’t think it’s bad when her own photos are edited, but she also likes to post pictures of herself not wearing any make-up. She thinks it is important to be able to differentiate between an edited and unedited photo and Emily Ratajkowski agrees with her.
Cabello dislikes using Instagram
That’s why at times, she doesn’t like using Instagram. She sometimes even has members of her team managing her account instead because she doesn’t like the stress that goes along with the Instagram world. At the moment, she is currently managing her own account again but is also being careful not to spend too much time on the platform and does take breaks from social media at times.
