The syndrome is now impacting Céline Dion’s iconic voice
‘Stiff person syndrome’ is described by the NHS as ‘a rare, progressive neurological disorder’ with the following symptoms: ‘stiff muscles in the trunk (torso), arms, and legs’ as well as ‘greater sensitivity to noise, touch, and emotional distress, which can set off muscle spasms.’
This is a very serious condition which, over time, leaves its victims unable to move. Earlier in August 2023, Claudette had already shared that doctors were struggling to find the right treatment for her sister and that now seems to have quickly caught up with the singer.
Claudette says:
The syndrome is now also impacting her voice. It sounds very different. She is also struggling to breathe.
It appears like Céline Dion’s symptoms are getting worse as time passes but we continue to hope that the singer gets the help she needs very soon.
