Céline Dion delights fans as she sings I'm Alive while backstage at Cirque du Soleil

Céline Dion is in better shape than ever! On 2 June, while attending a performance of the new Cirque du Soleil show in Las Vegas, the star sang one of her greatest hits to a small but lucky crowd.

It's no secret that Céline Dion suffers from a rare disease. In a video posted on her social networks last December, the 56-year-old superstar revealed that she had been diagnosed with Stiff Person Syndrome. This is a rare disease affecting the central nervous system, causing progressive rigidity of the trunk and limbs, associated with spasms. In these conditions, it is impossible for René Angelil's widow to perform on stage. So it was with a heavy heart that she decided to cancel her last tour, in the hope of one day seeing her public again.

Céline Dion gives her fans some reassuring news

In the trailer for her upcoming documentary, which has been viewed millions of times, Céline Dion opened up about her condition and the effect it has on her life:

It's going well, but it's a lot of work. We're going to find, I hope, a miracle, a way to cure with scientific research, but I have to learn to live with it.

Five days a week, I am going through therapy, athletic, physical and vocal therapy. I work my toes, my knees, my calves, my fingers, my singing, my voice.

Since her diagnosis, the singer has kept out of the public eye, but is preparing to make her comeback with a documentary entitled I am: Céline Dion, soon to be available on Amazon Prime Video, which promises to reveal previously unseen aspects of her battle with the disease.

While we wait for this long-awaited documentary to be broadcast, Céline Dion is slowly getting back to her old life.

After being spotted at Katy Perry and the Rolling Stones concerts in Las Vegas, the singer of My Heart Will Go On was seen a few days ago at a performance of Cirque du Soleil's new Beatles show. As usual, the singer was accompanied by the three men in her life, her sons René-Charles, Eddy and Nelson, and to say the least, she was in great form!

At the end of the show, Céline Dion went backstage to congratulate the cast and crew, and to the delight of all present, she sang a few bars of one of her best-known songs: I'm Alive. It was enough to send Internet users wild with joy, as they hadn't seen her sing for far too long. Not to mention the fact that she accompanied her performance with a few dance steps that only she knows the secret to. Céline Dion is more alive than ever!
