What is Mariangela accusing Cher of?
According to court documents filed on 5 December 2022 in the Los Angeles Superior Court, Marieangela claims that Cher enlisted the services of four individuals to forcibly remove Elijah from their New York hotel room on the night of their wedding anniversary.
This incident allegedly occurred after Marieangela and Elijah had spent 12 days together, attempting to reconcile their marriage.
Marieangela recounts the experience in her court filing, stating,
After spending these 12 days together in NY… four people came to our hotel room and removed [Allman] from our room.
She goes on to claim that one of these men informed her that they were acting on the instructions of Elijah's own mother, Cher.
This alleged abduction left Marieangela deeply concerned about her husband's wellbeing and whereabouts. In her December declaration, she said:
I am currently unaware of my husband's wellbeing or whereabouts.
She revealed that she had been forbidden from seeing or communicating with Elijah since August 2022. Furthermore, she learned that Elijah was in a treatment facility, the location of which was undisclosed to her, and he had no access to his phone.
Elijah Allman has been open about his struggles with addiction before, and unfortunately it was a problem that also affected his father, who battled with his use of heroin.
Cher's representatives have not yet commented on the accusations.
Who is Marieangela King?
Marieangela King, also known by her stage name Queenie, was born in Mumbai, India, on July 16, 1987. Currently 36 years old, she is also a musician and a member of pop band King, which was founded in London, United Kingdom, in 1997.
With a relatively low profile compared to her in-laws, the singer has an active Instagram page with only 2.5K followers where she most recently posted about attending her sister's wedding in Germany.
When did Marieangla and Elijah get married?
Marieangela's connection to the Allman family came through her marriage to Elijah Blue Allman in 2013. The couple have officially been together for over 6 years, however court records show that they have been separated since 20 April, 2020. Cher's son Elijah consequently filed for divorce on November 24 2021 citing 'irreconcilable differences'.
