With this, the whole world understood that Rock’s mouth tends to cause him trouble. But before all of this, way back in 2016, Rock’s words got him in trouble for insulting a famous singer and actor. And people allegedly think he has ‘foot in mouth’ syndrome after everything he has said in the name of comedy. Here’s what went down.
Chris Rock’s poor choice of words
The year was 2016; the man was Chris Rock. The comedian's jokes, although funny usually, sometimes cross the line. And this time, it was at the expense of Selena Gomez. Rock dissed the ‘Good For You’ singer by calling her the poor man’s version of Beyonce, which outraged everyone online.
Chris Rock’s alleged unnecessary comment
According to US Magazine, Rock posted a picture of Gomez’s performance on her Revival tour, donning a gold bodysuit much like Beyoncé’s Formation world tour ensemble. The following was written on the image 'when you buy your formation tickets on craigslist.' To which Rock commented - ‘this is true’.
Gomez fans obviously did not take this well and pretty much roasted Rock for his comment.
No regrets from Chris Rock
As per Hollywood Life, an insider reported that Rock would not apologize to Gomez. Rock is a comedian who did it for laughs and had nothing personally against the singer. Apparently, it wasn’t his intention to target Gomez, and he says that it is all just a part of his job as a comedian. His ‘no regret’ attitude got him more flak from Gomez fans.
