Ant and Dec have already shared a post on social media confirming the hit show is returning this autumn, but as always, the participating celebrities are still a secret. This hasn’t stopped the rumours from circulating.

The Sun has claimed that Coleen Rooney, wife of ex-England striker Wayne Rooney, who recently cleared up rumour about moving to boxing, is one of said participants. Moreover, the tabloid claimed that ITV bosses are hoping that Coleen will spill details about her major falling out with fellow WAG and former I’m a Celeb star, Rebekah Vardy.

Coleen Rooney allegedly to star on I’m a Celeb

As mentioned above, so far, all this so far is speculation and nothing has been confirmed by ITV, but The Sun claims that the hit show I’m a Celeb will feature Coleen Rooney this year. It is also said that she has secured a bigger deal with ITV than Nigel Farage, who allegedly earned £1.5 million last year.

As per the tabloid, ITV bosses are hoping that Rooney will talk about her life with the former footballer and their children. Moreover, they are hoping she will spill details about her fallout with fellow WAG, Rebekah Vardy, wife of the Leicester City footballer Jamie Vardy, who took part in I’m a Celeb back in 2017.

A source allegedly told The Sun that Rooney is a huge fan of the show and she regularly watches it with her boys. They said:

I’m A Celeb bosses have pulled off a huge coup getting Coleen for the jungle this year and the team are thrilled to have her on board.
She’s always been a massive fan of the show and loves watching it with her boys. ITV are over the moon that the stars have aligned this year and she can fit it in. The series is set to be one of the best yet.

What happened between Coleen Rooney and Rebekah Vardy?

The Independent gives a detailed timeline of the fallout, explaining that between 2017 and 2019, The Sun published several articles about Coleen Rooney, including that she travelled to Mexico to look into baby ‘gender selection’ treatment and much more.

In 2019, Rooney accused Vardy on social media of selling stories to the press, after spending five months trying to figure it out. Vardy, who was pregnant with her fifth child at the time, denied the allegations, explaining that various people had access to her Instagram account during that time.

At the time, Rebekah Vardy said:

I thought she was my friend but she completely annihilated me.

As reported by The Guardian, Rebekah Vardy lost the high-profile case in July 2022, after Mrs Justice Steyn found that Rooney’s accusations were ‘substantially true’. In October 2022, Vardy was ordered to pay 90% of Rooney’s legal cost by a judge.

However, Vardy challenged the £1.8 million legal costs and both women’s lawyers have returned to court this week to discuss the issue further.
