The past few months have been very challenging for English TV channels. From Phillip Schofield to Huw Edwards it is now Dan Wootton’s turn to be targeted by accusations of sexual misconduct.

On 17 July 2023, TheByline Times revealed that they had been conducting a three-year investigation on the presenter regarding misconduct. According to the publication, Dan Wootton allegedly took on a fake persona, named ‘Martin Branning’ to trick former co-workers into sending explicit content. He is also accused of offering around £30K for said content.
The Byline Times also reveals that they have ‘extensive evidence’ of their accusations.
The presenter who is now a star figure of GBNews has been part of the news world for a very long time but has achieved a new level of fame in recent years. So how did Dan Wootton get to this level and how much is he worth?
What is Dan Wootton known for?
As mentioned above, Dan Wootton’s career has been long-lasting. He first started working as a journalist in New Zealand where he wrote an entertainment column.
Wootton then moved to England when he was 21 and started working for publications such as the Daily Mail. In 2013, he joined The Sun. While working at the tabloid he broke the story about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle leaving the UK. The term ‘Megxit’ is his doing.
Even more recently, Wootton has been widely criticised for weighing in on the Philip Schofield drama and for his involvement in the tragedy that concerned Caroline Flack.

Dan Wootton’s net worth
Dan Wootton’s career has been long lasting. Indeed, before joining GBNews in 2021, Wootton worked internationally. He has worked for huge publications such as The Sun and The Daily Mail.
All these work ventures have allowed him to amass a significant amount of money. According to National World, Dan Wootton could earn around £60K a year for his work on GBNews.
While this GBNews salary is not as high as some top BBC male presenters, other sources of income mean that his net worth is evaluated at around £5 million.
