Dancing On Ice: Bez to miss training after catching Covid

The new series of Dancing On Ice got off to a great start this weekend but it looks like last year’s Covid woes are set to plague the show again. Just a day after performing his first skate Happy Mondays star Bez has tested positive for Covid and will have to miss training.

Bez gets Covid

In a statement to the Daily Star, Bez revealed:

I've had a positive test. I'm gutted because I'm going to be missing training but I'm looking forward to skating on the show again for Week Three and I'll be tuning at home and cheering on my mates who are skating this weekend.

Bez will be back

Luckily, Bez won’t have to miss a performance, as he wasn’t due to skate in this weekend’s show anyway. He performed in the first batch of celebs in the opening show. Despite getting the lowest score from the judges, viewers clearly loved his zany routine to Happy Mondays classic Step On (‘You’re twisting my melon man’) complete with giant maracas and melon crash helmet, and voted him through to Movies Week.

Bottom of the leaderboard once the judges’ scores had been combined with the public vote were Ria Hebden and Łukasz Różycki. They’ll face off against the bottom pairing from the couples skating this weekend to see who is eliminated first.

The six couples yet to take to the ice are: Connor Ball & Alexandra Schauman, Ben Foden & Robin Johnstone, Liberty Poole & Joe Johnson, Regan Gascoigne & Karina Manta, Stef Reid & Andy Buchanan and Rachel Stevens & Brendyn Hatfield.

We’re wishing Bez a speedy recovery, and we can’t wait to see him back on the ice!
