When it was reported last month that Dani Dyer had been cast in an EastEnders role as a cab driver, it seemed she was just set to make a cameo appearance. Since she and dad Danny—who plays Mick Carter—are in the same bubble, it seemed a clever way to get around Covid filming regulations. But it looks like she’s got a bigger role than we thought.

Who is Dani Dyer playing on EastEnders?
Dani is set to play a pregnant cab driver called Jeanette who picks Mick up to take him to Linda’s baby scan. However, Jeanette goes into labour partway through the journey and Mick has to drive them the rest of the way to the hospital. He then sticks with her as spoiler pics show him helping her through labour in the hospital.
Dani and Danny Dyer working together
Discussing working with her dad, Dani said:
I was really excited—me and my dad really work well together. We do our podcast and that’s always such a laugh, so to be acting alongside him really was fun and made it a lot easier for me. This was definitely a lot more than what we’ve done in the past and it was brilliant. I really love working with my dad he really does make work easy with whatever we do together.
It also helped that Dani had recent real-life experience to draw on when preparing for her role. She welcomed her first child—a little boy named Santiago—with partner Sammy Kimmence this past January. So was it strange having a full bump back just a few months after giving birth? She said:
To be honest, I started looking at YouTube first to see how pregnant women act. Then I realised I’ve been pregnant so I was better off relating to myself! I absolutely loved being pregnant, so it was mad having a bump back on and it made me miss my bump even more!
