Winter Love Island may have been axed for the foreseeable future but it’s matchmaking abilities compared to previous series of the hit ITV2 dating show were unparalleled. Over a year on from the finale, a record five couples formed on the show are still together. That’s not even counting Rebecca Gormley and Biggs Chris who met on the show but didn’t couple up until later.

Demi Jones finished third on the show whilst coupled up with Justin Bieber lookalike Luke Mabbott. Unfortunately, their relationship didn’t stand the test of time and they split in June last year. This week, Demi opened up about the fact so many of the other couples from her series are still together.
Demi Jones: ‘Honestly, I am surprised’
She told the Daily Mail:
Honestly, I am surprised. I feel very surprised. The lockdown has pushed people to stay together because they've had to live together and they've gone from one extreme to the other. I am so happy they're still together and still thriving, it's really lovely to see. It's been the most successful series in terms of relationships ever.

Demi also made it clear that there are no hard feelings remaining between herself and Luke, who has been in a relationship with 2019 Love Islander Lucie Donlan since last summer. Demi said:
I wish them all the best and I have completely moved on. I'm just excited to meet someone for myself now. I'm putting all my focuses on that.
She confirmed that she is ‘absolutely single at the moment’ but looking forward to a ‘hot girl summer’ getting back into socialising with the end of lockdown. She continued:
I can't wait to meet people in the same industry and fellow celebrities and hopefully I'll find someone to go out with on a nice date.
