In the end, ITV decided to choose Dermot O’Leary to become the weekday host for the show. Previously, he only hosted Friday mornings and during school holidays with Alison Hammond.

Dermot O’Leary is most famous for hosting The X-Factor, where iconic groups such as One Direction and Little Mix and solo artists like Olly Murs got their big breaks.
Since then, the TV host has done a number of shows and has now become one of ITV’s highest-paid celebrities. Indeed, according to Daily Record, O’Leary is ranked 7th on the list, just above his newest co-host.
According to Edinburgh News, O’Leary is paid £600,000 a year to host This Morning.
In 2016, he signed a £8 million contract to remain on The X-Factor for 4 years. He also has his own Radio 2 show every Saturday morning.

Dermot O’Leary’s net worth
Dermot O’Leary has racked up quite a sum from his various TV and radio shows. As a result, he has a net worth of around £9.7 million according to Celebrity Net Worth.
LadBible reports that in 2009, Dermot opened his own fish and chip shop in Brighton, called Fishy Fishy, he also opened a branch in Poole, but both were shut down as they didn’t have enough customers.
O’Leary has also published a children’s book series called Toto the Ninja Cat, the first book Toto the Ninja Cat and the Great Snake Escape was published in 2017 and so far, there are 5 books, the last being published in 2021.
