In late September 2024, Donald Trump hosted a private fundraiser with top Republican donors at his Trump Tower penthouse in New York City. The exclusive event included influential figures such as former Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos and hedge fund manager Paul Singer. While addressing the audience, Trump—who recently faced online humiliation—reportedly became agitated as he expressed frustration over his lagging financial support in comparison to Kamala Harris.

During this angry tirade, Trump took a personal jab at Harris, using an offensive slur to describe her. This isn’t the first time Trump has used derogatory remarks for Harris, he previously made a sexist attack on her and Hillary Clinton.
Donald Trump called Kamala Harris the R-word
At the fundraiser, held on Sunday, September 29, Trump used the r-word for her. According to The Independent, he referred to Harris as ‘retarded,’ a slur that many found shocking and offensive. The remark came weeks after he called her ‘mentally impaired’ during a public rally.
His repeated insults and use of demeaning language have become a hallmark of his campaign speeches, but the use of the r-word at this event marked a significant escalation in his personal attacks. Sources from the fundraiser reported that Trump’s frustrations were focused on the financial support Harris had garnered, reports People.
At the time of the event, Harris was significantly outpacing Trump in fundraising, raising four times more than Trump in August 2024 alone.
Kamala Harris’ subtle reaction to his remarks
Meanwhile, Kamala Harris has also been ramping up her criticism of Trump but more subtly than the former POTUS. Throughout the campaign, she has persistently called on Trump to release detailed information about his medical history, implying that voters deserve to know the state of his health, given his advanced age of 78.
Harris has already released her medical records that conclude she’s in ‘excellent health’ and fit for presidency, reports BBC. Dr Joshua Simmons, a US Army colonel has been Harris’ physician for over three years. He wrote in her most recent physical in April that the 59-year-old maintains a healthy and active lifestyle. Labeling her report ‘remarkable,’ he noted that she also keeps up with recommended preventative care.
Following her disclosure of medical records, Harris has been putting pressure on Trump to release his medical records. While Trump has not released his medical records, his team has claimed that he is in ‘perfect and excellent health.’
