In the Trump family, Donald's son Barron Trump has been growing in popularity. Barron Trump is the youngest son of Donald Trump, the former President of the United States, and his wife Melania. Barron was born on March 20, 2006 in New York City and is the only child of the former presidential couple.
The 18-year-old is set to graduate from high school very soon, but it looks like he already has a plan for his career and it's very similar to that of his father's.
Barron goes into politics
Politico has revealed that Barron Trump will attend the Republican National Convention in July as one of Florida's delegates. This is a significant development considering how keen the family has been to keep him out of everything so far.
A representative of the campaign team, who is keeping their identity anonymous, confirmed that Barron has been selected as a delegate by the Republicans. They added that the 18-year-old is:
very interested in our nation's political process.
The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
The Trump siblings in the delegation
Barron is not the only Trump that is part of the delegation either. He will be joined by his older half-brothers Eric Trump, who was selected by the state party was the delegation chair, Donald Trump Jr. and their sister Tiffany Boulos. The Trumps will all be attending the convention which is set to happen in Milwaukee Wisconsin from July 15 to 18, 2024.
Ivanka Trump, Donald Trump's eldest daughter, is the only oneof his children not on the list of delegates, according to Spiegel.
It was previously unknown whether Barron would follow the footsteps of his father and siblings and foray into politics. However, with the news, supporters of the Republican party and the whole Trump family will definitely be seeing more of the young Trump in his family's turf.
Donald Trump reacts to the big news
The former POTUS recently spoke about Barron and his political debut in the Republican National Convention during an interview with Miami's Telemundo 51 on 9 May. He said:
To me that's very cute, because he's a very young guy. He's graduating from high school this year, he's a very good student, very smart.
However, now the interview is gaining a lot of media attention because of a very small detail—Trump seems to have gotten the age of his youngest son wrong. He continued:
He's pretty young, I will say. He's 17, but if they can do that I'm all for it.
Barron Trump turned 18 in March and his father's little mistake has cost him some negative press coverage—only adding to the debate of his declining mental capabilities.
Nevertheless, Trump's praise for his youngest child comes as the 18-year-old is set to graduate from high school next week. An occasion so special, Donald Trump requested the day off from his ongoing hush money case to attend his graduation. The request that has now been accepted by the court.
