Moreover, as many public figures do, he shared a post on X (formerly Twitter). However, his post is very different to the typical Thanksgiving posts and has been gaining more and more traction.
Donald Trump’s Thanksgiving post is going viral
As mentioned before, it is typical for public figures to post about national holidays on social media and Thanksgiving is no exception.
Usually, for Thanksgiving, people share what they are thankful for in their lives. Donald Trump has gone for a different approach. The President-elect shared an edited video of him popping out of a turkey while dancing to The Village People's Y.M.C.A - a song he used a lot during his campaign.

The original video is from the film National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, as per Newsweek. However, in Trump’s version, President Joe Biden has been edited onto father Clark Griswold, who cuts the turkey.
Biden is not the only person edited into the video. Indeed, Vice President Kamala Harris, California Representative Adam Schiff, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, New York Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and Minnesota Representative Ilhan Omar are also featured.
Since the video was shared at 12:43 AM, Nov 29, 2024, it has been viewed 36.9 million times and has been liked by 248,000 accounts so far. Elon Musk even commented on the post.
How did Donald Trump celebrate Thanksgiving?
As reported by Daily Mail, Donald Trump spent Thanksgiving at his Mar-a-Lago residence surrounded by family and friends. Among those by his side were his wife, Melania, their son, Barron as well as his daughter Tiffany, his son Eric and his wife.
Family members were not the only ones present at Trump’s Thanksgiving event, indeed, several celebrities were spotted at Mar-a-Lago.Sylvester Stallone, who dubbed Trump the second George Washington, was seen chatting with Elon Musk, who has been called Trump’s ‘adopted son’. Musk’s mother was also present at the gathering.
Many have been commenting on the closeness between Musk and Trump in recent weeks. One Trump supported joked that Trump had ‘adopted’ Musk following the videos of the gathering. As per Daily Mail:

The President-elect has also joked about Musk’s presence at his home, he allegedly said that ‘Elon won't go home’ adding that he ‘can't get rid of him. Until I don't like him’.
