Donald Trump’s campaign is in full swing despite the attempted assassination that nearly took his life. Weeks after the assassination attempt, Joe Biden decided to step back from the presidential race, and Kamala Harris was given the reins of the Democratic Party — someone who Trump’s niece claims he’s ‘terrified’ of.

Regardless, Trump moves forward with conviction, confidence, and Melania Trump by his side. Although Melania has been largely absent from his campaign this year, the former First Lady fully supports her husband. It is understood that she even made a deal with him that if he were to return to the White House in November, she would not be a full-time First Lady.
Donald Trump jokes about leaving his wife during an awkward on-stage interaction
While Trump appears to value the support of his wife, he recently made a risqué joke about leaving former First Lady Melania at his rally in Georgia. Earlier this month, Trump invited conservative activist Michaelah Montgomery onstage at his Georgia State University Convocation Center rally in Atlanta.
Michaelah Montgomery previously gained popularity in April when she went viral in a video where she was seen hugging Trump at a Chick-fil-A restaurant. This time, Montgomery took to the stage to support Trump and took multiple digs at Harris, reports The Independent.
Trump later returned to the stage and invited Montgomery back up. He began telling the story of how he met Montgomery for the first time in April and recalled her saying:
It’s President Trump. You saved my college.
Trump, back then, asked her ‘How the hell do you know that?’ and added:
This one is so smart, so sharp. She grabbed me. She gave me a kiss, and I said “I think I'm never going back home to the first lady.”
Montgomery jokingly cut him off and said:
Shh, you were supposed to keep that quiet!
To which Trump quipped:
For the average politician that’s death. For me, I don’t care.
Who is Michaelah Montgomery?
According to MailOnline, Montgomery is a Georgia activist and a 2020 graduate of Clark Atlanta University — a Historically Black College or University (HBCU). While Trump was president, he signed a bipartisan bill that strengthened HBCUs and other minority-serving institutions, which could be what she meant by Trump saving her college. Trump has been using this to appeal to Black voters.
Montgomery also founded Conserve The Culture, which conducts grassroots campaigns. After meeting Trump in April this year, she told Fox News that it was a ‘learning experience’ for her and her students. Meanwhile, Trump praised Montgomery as 'incredible' on stage during the recent rally and said she has a ‘tremendous future.’
