Donald Trump's youngest son Barron is rarely seen in public, here's what we know about him

For a long time, Donald and Melania Trump have tried to offer their youngest 'as normal a life as possible' - away from the cameras that are constantly directed at them, especially during the presidency. However, that doesn't always work out.

Indeed, Melania herself has tried to keep quiet during her husband's indictment with 34 felony counts of falsification of business records. However, after much speculation about the state of their marriage, she finally appeared in public with Trump and released a statement.

Barron Trump had a strong Slovenian accent as a child

An old video interview has surfaced showing the then only four-year-old during an interview on CNN with Larry King. What is particularly striking about it is that the boy speaks 'with a strong Slovenian accent' despite growing up in America.

After asking a couple of questions, King remarked that 'he has an accent'. Melania confirmed 'he does. He spends most of the time with me'. King asked Trump what he thought of that, to which he said he thinks it’s 'great'. Melania also explained that Barron speaks three languages.

In his book about Melania, the Slovenian journalist Bojan Požar reveals that the boy also likely speaks Slovenian with his aunt. Požar wrote:

Barron almost certainly speaks Slovenian with Melania’s sister Ines, his aunt, who also lives in New York.

Ines Knavs was the one who took care of all the paperwork at the Slovenia consulate in New York so that Barron could formally acquire Slovenian citizenship.

Barron Trump is taller than his father at 17-years-old

Since the video was published, the question has been raised as to whether the now 17-year-old still speaks English with a Slovenian accent or whether he has outgrown it, so to speak.

Speaking of 'growing', Barron's last public appearance also made headlines. He attended the funeral service for Ivana Trump, his father's ex-wife, in 2022. And in the process, it was noticeable: The boy has grown up quite a bit!

The teenager now towers over his father: while Donald Trump is already 6 feet and 2 inches tall, Barron stands at a proud 6 foot 7 inches. Trump referred to his son's height in a post-arraignment speech to supporters at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach on 4 April. He said:

And Barron will be great someday. He is tall, he is tall and he’s smart.
