Last night’s Love Island saw a brutal quadruple dumping as Hugo Hammond, Amy Day, Clarisse Juliette and Sam Jackson were all voted off the show. They were in the bottom three couples alongside Tyler Cruickshank and Mary Bedford—who were saved by their fellow Islanders.

Hugo and Amy’s future
Although Hugo was coupled up with Amy when they left, their romance already seems to be dead in the water. Hugo shocked fans by calling his search for love in the villa ‘tragic’ while standing right next to Amy in a painfully awkward moment.
Asked whether he would continue their romance, Hugo said:
It was a bit like a holiday romance. You go away and you think it's amazing and then you come back to the real life and the cracks almost start to show a little bit...I'm sure we'll go out in groups and whatnot, but I can't imagine we'll be going out for a dinner anytime soon.
Meanwhile, Amy slammed Hugo for being ‘hot and cold’ with her when they got back to the main villa and called him ‘fake’ for not admitting that he wasn’t into her. She revealed she wished she’d opened up and recoupled with someone else—and was also keen to make it clear that she and Hugo never slept together.

Ultimately, Hugo just didn’t find a good enough connection in the villa. He said:
You can't force love, it has to be reciprocated. For me, I didn't want to compromise. I sort of knew what I was looking for. I didn't want to settle. I had the opportunities there, it didn't work out for one reason or another.
