Eamonn Holmes concern disappearances

Eamonn Holmes has been the morning host of GB News since January 2022, just a few months after he was fired from ITV’s This Morning. Eamonn hosts the 6 am morning show with Ellie Costello.

Ellie tied the knot over the weekend (April 13). However, it was noted by many that her co-host, Holmes, was not present for the big day. Moreover, Holmes’ friends have growing concerns over his health due to the demands of his early morning job and his ongoing health issues, which have drastically changed his life.

Eamonn Holmes misses co-host’s wedding

As reported by Express, fellow GB News host Ellie Costello married Gerard Durkan at Chelsea Town Hall in London. Friends and family surrounded the 31-year-old. As the newlywed couple left the town hall, Eamonn Holmes, who was forced to sell his second home, was not spotted among those celebrating.

It is believed that Costello chose a small, intimate wedding, inviting only her closest friends and family—meaning her co-host of only a few months likely wasn’t invited.

Indeed, Ellie joined Eamonn for the early morning show at the beginning of the year after Isabel Webster was abruptly fired.

However, this isn’t the only absence that has caused concern among Eamonn Holmes’s entourage. The presenter went missing for three hours while live on television.

Eamonn Holmes went missing on GB News set

Last Tuesday (April 8), Eamonn Holmes left the set of GB News at around 8:50 am, leaving his co-host, Ellie Costello, to anchor alone. Naturally, following his unexplained disappearance, friends and fans have shared their concerns.

An unnamed source spoke to Daily Mail, claiming the staff at GB News find it ‘heartbreaking’ to watch the 65-year-old arrive on set in the early hours of the morning.

As many know, Holmes has been dealing with major health issues (a double hip replacement and spinal injury), which have left the TV host with severe mobility issues—to the extent he can no longer walk and needs a wheelchair.

The unnamed source adds that Holmes ‘looks frail’ while on set and always appears to look ‘terribly uncomfortable’.

He looks so sad so much of the time. He looks like he's in pain and it's awful to watch.
He should be at home resting, but instead he’s up at the crack of dawn to start the show. He’s 65 years old, he looks so frail. You can’t help but feel sorry for him.

The source then explains that when Eamonn disappeared from set, it was all everyone could talk about. For many, it raised the question of how long Holmes can keep up this lifestyle.

The talk of GB News last week was Eamonn vanishing. He is much loved there – but you look at him and you wonder how much longer he can do this for.

Per Daily Mail, Holmes has to be up by 4:30am to be driven from his Kingston home to the GB News studios in Paddington for the 6am slot.
