Ellen DeGeneres, the beloved comedian and former talk show host, has made headlines yet again. Known for her vocal political stance, DeGeneres openly endorsed Kamala Harrisand eagerly hoped for her to win the US 2024 elections. She even donated $3,300 to her campaign and in a social media post wrote:

There’s nothing more powerful than a woman whose time has come! I can’t wait for @KamalaHarris to be our next president.
However, after Donald Trump won the elections, everyone was in shock. As per sources, Ellen also hinted at potentially leaving the US if Trump were to win the presidency again. Now, following Trump’s recent election victory over Harris, it appears she may have acted on that sentiment.
Has Ellen DeGeneres moved to the UK?
According to the New York Post, DeGeneres and her wife Portia de Rossi have allegedly moved to England after Trump’s win and are ‘never’ coming back.
Reports claim that the 66-year-old and her wife bought a home in Cotswolds, in the south-west of England, before Trump's election, and have now moved there for a fresh start.
An insider told The Wrap that the couple will likely ‘never’ return to the United States. Another source told TMZ that DeGeneres and the Arrested Development alum decided to ‘get the hell out’ of the country immediately after Trump’s win in the 2024 election. Reportedly, they felt ‘very disillusioned.’
Last week, the duo was spotted visiting the Farmers Dog pub, belonging to the former Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson, in Cotswolds. A video posted by Clarkson’s girlfriend on Instagram shows her partying with de Rossi.
Despite rumours and speculations, DeGeneres hasn’t confirmed the news herself. Multiple publications have contacted her spokesperson for comment but the couple have remained silent.
In the off-chance that DeGeneres has moved to the UK, it is not known how she plans to split her time between the US and the UK - considering most of her professional commitments largely remain tied to the US.
If she has, in fact, moved to the UK, she would be the second celeb to leave the US, after Eva Longoria.
Ellen DeGeneres’s home in the US
While Ellen’s alleged move to the UK gathers attention, her real estate poses a significant question. The comedian is well-known for her passion for architecture and design—having bought, sold, and flipped numerous properties in the US over the years.
Early in 2024, she sold a Montecito mansion for a staggering $96 million less than two years after she purchased the property. She paid $70 million for it when she bought the property. In October, it was reported by House Beautiful that she has listed another yet Montecito mansion on sale for $46.5 million.
Interestingly, DeGeneres and her wife also bought back a Santa Barbara home they had previously owned and cherished for $32 million this year. Ellen reportedly paid an additional $6 million to buy a vacant, roughly 3-acre property next door to her Santa Barbara home - a 1919 estate spanning eight acres.
