On Sunday 25 June, Elton John headlined Glastonbury festival and took to the Pyramid stage for his final UK performance.

Elton John at Glastonbury: A final performance
For years now, the 74-year-old pop legend has talked about retiring and his Sunday 25 June Glastonbury performance was set to be his last in the UK.
During the performance the singer addressed the crowd and said:
It’s a very special and emotional night for me as it may be my last ever show in England, so I better play well and entertain you as you’ve been standing there so long
The performance has been reviewed as being ‘vigorous and thrilling’, which surely left fans and attendees with memories that last forever.
Even star Paul McCartney has been seen wanting to remember the evening by taking a video.

How much did Elton John earn for his performance at Glastonbury?
While of course this performance was legendary for the mere fact that an icon is retiring, this performance may also be remembered for something else.
Indeed, an article from LadBible estimates how much the retiring rock star could have made.
While we know that Glastonbury festivaldoesn’t pay as good as other festivals as they prefer to ‘donate millions of pounds to charities every year instead’ we also have an idea of how much Elton John could have been paid.
It has been reported by Emily Eavis, youngest daughter of the festival's founder Michael Eavis, that the performer only 'get paid 10% of what they could make at other festivals.'
Eavis said to to BBC Radio 6 in 2017:
So we're really grateful for the bands that we get because they're basically doing it for the love of it.
Her father and founder of the festival has talked about how much he has paid previous performers around £200K.
I paid £200,000 for Paul McCartney and for Coldplay, and although it sounds a lot, they could have charged me far more.
While it is currently impossible to get the exact amount that Elton John got paid, his international fame and the fact this show was said to be his last could have raised the price tag.
in an interview with Metro, music consultant Lyle Bignon, said:
The likes of Elton John and Guns N' Roses, who have decades of global fame behind them, can likely command higher prices running into the £250,000+ range.
That being said, we know that headliners do not get paid over £500K for their performance at Glastonbury as this has been stated by the festival organiser Rob Da Bank.
