We’re having a baby.
Most fans and followers believed that the 34-year-old actress was single, but her announcement shocked everyone. Wondering who the other half of Emily’s ‘we’ is? Let’s meet Alistair Garner
Who is Emily Atack’s boyfriend and father of her first child?
The comedy actress went straight from ‘flying the flag for all the single ladies’ to being in a happy relationship with a child on the way. After a string of failed romances with big and popular names, Emily has finally found love in nuclear scientist boyfriend Dr Alistair Garner.
According to the Mirror, Emily has largely kept her love life with Alistair private - they have only been pictured together ONCE in public. In September 2023, the two were photographed together walking hand in hand while out and about in London.
She beamed as she walked down the streets of the capital with Alistair and they were spotted hand-in-hand as they settled in a cafe. A source said at that time:
She had a cocktail and Alistair ordered a beer. Emily looked to be having a great time and couldn’t stop smiling. When they left they were holding hands.
Alistair describes himself as a materials scientist and electron microscopist specialising in nuclear and aerospace applications, confirmed MailOnline. He’s a graduate from the University of Manchester where he studied for his PhD and Masters and also worked as a lecturer. He received his undergraduate degree from Keele University and is thought to be in his mid-to-late 30s. He is now believed to be a senior consultant for Core Materials at Jacobs – a large US company.
What’s next for Emily and Alistair?
Ahead of the baby’s arrival in April 2024, the couple have big things coming for them. The two have moved in together in order to prepare themselves as new parents. The romance has clearly blossomed since then as they’re expecting their first child now. A source shared:
Emily is delighted by the happy news and has been pleased to tell family and close friends about her little one on the way. It’s the perfect end to her year and she feels over the moon.
Talking about her pregnancy she shared on her Instagram:
I’ve never been so happy and utterly terrified at the same time. Please go easy on me... Every day is mixed with thrill, fear, joy, hysteria, topped off with a lot of vomiting - a bit like when you’ve just stepped off of the Oblivion at Alton Towers on a hangover.
I’ve got to know my body on such an insane level. It’s made me appreciate the one I’ve been given SO much, I’m doing my absolute best to make it a home for the little squid I’m growing.
We can already sense the baby is reclined on a mattress of peanut butter and jam sandwiches in there, demanding more chocolate buttons. I’m so happy to be writing all of this to you all.
