Emma Thompson’s acting career started on stage
As reported by Express, Emma Thompson’s acting career started in 1982 when she toured on a stage version of Not the Nine O'Clock News, then in 1985, Thompson was cast in the West End revival of the musical Me and My Girl.
In 1992, Emma Thompson won her first awards, she won the Golden Globe and BAFTA Best Actress awards for her role in Howard’s End. Thompson made her Hollywood debut in 1994 in Junior, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito.
Since then, Emma Thompson’s acting career has boomed, in 1995, she starred in Sense and Sensibility, and in 2003 she starred in one of her iconic films, Love Actually and she has previously given insight on her infamous crying scene.
Some of Thompson’s other iconic roles include Nanny McPhee, she also plays Professor Trelawney in the Harry Potter franchise and she played Mrs Potts in the live-action version of Beauty and the Beast.
