It often gets forgotten that there’s a £50k prize at stake for the winning couple of Love Island each year. The final ‘twist’ of the show is that one member of the winning couple gets an envelope with £50k while the other gets an empty envelope. It’s then up to the one with the £50k whether they want to split it with their partner or keep it to themself.

Predictably - and pretty dully - no Islander has ever been brazen enough to take the £50k for themself, instead opting to split it with their partner each time. But some fans are hoping that we could finally see an Islander take the money this series if Liam and Millie win.
Liam and Millie were one of the strongest couples in the villa until Casa Amor came along. Although neither chose to couple up with someone new, Millie found out that Liam had kissed Casa Amor girl Lillie multiple times and their relationship has been on the rocks ever since.
Steal the£50k
Liam has been doing a lot of grovelling and it seems to be working as Millie picked him at Tuesday night’s recoupling. Many fans were not impressed by her decision to potentially forgive him. But some reckon she could be playing a long game. One fan tweeted:
The only #LoveIsland ending I will accept is if Millie takes Liam back just to steal the £50,000.
Who will win Love Island 2021?
However, other fans reckon Millie’s unpopular decision to take Liam back will stop them from winning the show. According to the bookies, they’re the third-most likely to win as a couple, behind Jake and Liberty and Teddy and Faye. However, both Millie and Liam are currently 2/1 favourites to win Top Man and Top Woman respectively.
