In recent years, she has focused on wellness and mindfulness and inspired her followers to prioritise self-care too. However, recently, her life took an unexpected turn when she discovered two benign tumours in her jaw. Here’s what we know about her health update.
Fearne Cotton to undergo surgery to remove multiple tumours
Fearne revealed in an Instagramvideo this week that she is preparing to undergo surgery after having found two lumps in her jaw. She explained she had felt a lump on her jawline a while ago but only noticed significant growth this year.
After getting tested for them, reports confirmed the presence of two benign tumours—one just below her ear and another smaller one above it. She captioned the video:
I felt a lump under my ear on my jawline a while ago now but this year noticed it was growing.
Both of them are on a nerve and hence have to be removed from her body.
Fearne said in her Instagram video:
I’ve got a benign tumour just in my jaw here, below my ear, another little tiny one above it. I'm very grateful they're benign but they do need to come out because they're on a nerve.
So I'm gonna have that surgery, and then I'm gonna be resting to get better before Christmas.
Showing how she’s positive about the entire situation, she joked:
Not very good at resting, so wondering how that's gonna go. But I'm feeling OK about it. I'm going into the operation feeling good and well.
The 43-year-old added that her podcast will go on as normal, reports Mirror. She explained that she has ‘banked a load of good episodes’ that will be rolling out as per schedule.
Davina McCall comes to Fearne Cotton's support
In this challenging time, Fearne has the support of The Masked Singer judge Davina McCall. Davina recently underwent her own surgery to remove a benign brain tumour. Fearne, who called her after discovering her tumour, said she felt ‘lucky’ to have her support.
In her announcement, she shared:
It's obviously so weird that only a couple of months ago Davina told me about her tumour and then weeks later I was calling her having discovered mine. I'm not only lucky she's a bloody good mate but also a beacon of light and positivity when it comes to this stuff.
Davina was quick to jump in the comment section and show her support as she said ‘can’t wait to give you a huge gentle cuddle’ and sent her ‘much healing and love.’
Many other celebs also united to send positive messages to Fearne including former BBC Radio 2 presenter Zoe Ball.
