Christine McVie died on November 30, 2022. At the time, all that was said of her death was that she had ‘passed away peacefully at hospital following a short illness’ at the age of 79. The singer-songwriter’s death certificate has detailed her condition.

Christine McVie’s cause of death
As reported by The Independent, McVie died of an ischaemic stroke. This stroke occurs when the blood flow to the brain is interrupted or reduced. The death certificate also reveals that McVie had been diagnosed with ‘metastatic malignancy of unknown primary origin.’
The singer had a form of cancer that spread throughout her body but sadly the tumour went undetected. The cancer was listed as a secondary cause of death on her death certificate.

Who is Christine McVie?
Christine McVie joined the band Fleetwood Mac after she married the group's bassist, John McVie. Christine left the band in 1998 after 28 years but later rejoined in 2014.
Christine was the one behind a number of the band’s hits, including Everywhere, Little Lies, Don’t Stop and Say You Love Me. After she died in 2022, the band shared the following statement:
There are no words to describe our sadness at the passing of Christine McVie. She was truly one-of-a-kind, special and talented beyond measure. She was the best musician anyone could have in their band, and the best friend anyone could have in their life.
We were so lucky to have a life with her. Individually and together, we cherished Christine deeply and are thankful for the amazing memories we have. She will be so very missed.
