The fate of many child stars. Not only is Justin Bieber now struggling with the consequences of early fame, but Aaron Carter has also gone through a lot over the last few years, especially because of his problems with drug use and aggression.

On the US talk show The Doctors, he explained that he recently received a diagnosis that explains his behavioural patterns.
Aaron Carter diagnosed as a schizophrenic
He revealed that he was recently diagnosed with bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, depression and anxiety disorders. The former child star can now openly talk about it and even showed a bag of medication to the audience on the show.
‘This is my reality. I have nothing to hide.’
The 31-year-old explains that he has to take lots of different medication in order to maintain a stable mental state.
This medication includes antidepressants, Xanax, Seroquel, Hydroxyzine, Trazodone and Gabapentin which are supposed to help ease his symptoms. He does assure however that these are the only drugs that he is currently taking.
Rejecting a drug test caused scepticism
On the same show, the singer was offered a drug test. However, Carter refused to do so on the grounds that he had recently taken painkillers after a visit to the dentist which caused both the presenters and the audience to doubt him and become sceptical.
Carter had already appeared on the show two years ago and has since admitted that at the time, he was addicted to his prescription medication.
