Despite only spending a short amount of time in the Australian jungle, Frankie Dettori had a blast on the show and got stuck into every trial he faced. If you don’t know, Frankie Dettori is a highly successful jockey and is considered one of the most famous jockeys. According to Heart, he has ridden over 3,000 winners across his extensive career.
Who is Frankie Dettori?
Frankie Dettori was born on December 15, 1970, in Milan, Italy, as per The Sun. Frankie’s real name is Lanfranco and his father, Gianfranco was also a successful jockey in Italy. Frankie first started his horseracing career in 1986 and won his first race in 1987 at just 16 years old.
From then on, Frankie Dettori was unstoppable, now 52, the Italian jockey has won over 3,000 races and Dettori is showing no signs of stopping. Initially, Frankie revealed he would retire at the end of the 2023 season with the Breeder’s Cup being his last race.
However, Dettori decided he would begin racing in the US starting in 2024. Hew revealed in a short video on X:
Hi everyone, it's Frankie here. I'm in London for British Champions Day which will be my last one I had in England.
But a scoop for you guys, I've decided to prolong my career, I'm going to go to the United States from next year.

What is Frankie Dettori’s net worth?
As per The Sun, Frankie Dettori’s net worth is estimated to be between £15million and £18million. Indeed, being a successful jockey can bring you great fortune. It is reported that in 2022, Frankie Dettori earned a whopping £153million.
However, Frankie’s most successful year was in 2019, when he reportedly earned a massive £7,365,868 through his winnings. Frankie Dettori is ranked 37th out of the top 50 highest-earning jockeys in the world.
Frankie Dettori’s last win in the UK was on October 21, 2023, on Qipco British Champions Day at Ascot. Frankie won the Champion Stakes, on his horse King Of Steel, as per The Sun.
Speaking about his final win before heading off to the US, Frankie said he loved that the crowd were behind him but it’ll be something he will miss when he starts his next chapter:
It was incredible, everybody was cheering for me, they souped it up to be my last race so they were all up for it, and I couldn’t have wrote it better myself.
That was special, ‘Oh, Frankie Dettori’, that’s one thing I’ll miss. I can’t take that to America unfortunately.
He said he doesn’t expect the American crowd to react the same way as he will be newer over there but he is proud of himself for his career whilst in the UK:
I’m fairly new over there, but from the beginning of the season, it’s been tremendous.
I wanted to finish at the top and you can’t get any more top than this, so I’m very proud.
