Georgia Steel opens up about trolling she received during All Stars
It’s no secret that Georgia has been one of the most controversial stars of the show ever. She first appeared on the show in 2018 and landed herself a position on the list of show’s most memorable contestants. During her third stint on the show (in All Stars), her journey became total chaosuntil she got together with Toby Aromolaran.
Love Island viewers and fans took this as an opportunity to slam Georgia. According to The Sun, the star has revealed that her family received ‘death threats.’ She shared:
I felt like everyone hated me - it made me feel like I didn't know myself
My mum got messages - 'how could you raise a girl like this?’
Speaking to Sky News, she pointed out:
It's a reality show, it's not real life. You're not in a normal situation.
Hate and death threats and abuse, and personal, deep things. All the hate out there... I don't think anyone can prepare you for that.
This comes after Georgia confirmed Toby had called things off with her last month.
Impact of trolling on Georgia’s life
While Steel comes across as a confident, funny, glamorous young woman on TV, she’s also fragile in real life. The reaction to her participation on the show was so vicious that her family and management team deleted most of the trolling before she could see it.
The 25-year-old was in disbelief and added:
Would you really say it to their face? And would you be happy if the consequences were really bad?
It could just take that one comment that tips someone over the edge.
