Dave Griffiths confirms he’s not leaving Gogglebox
Dave, 65, and Shirley, 66, joined Gogglebox in 2015 and they have been much-loved by the viewers ever since. They recently sparked a wave of upset among viewers as they shared that the 24 May episode was the last one of the current series. The pair confirmed they are taking their annual break following the last instalment and jetted off to Dubai.
As Dave posted photos of his vacation in Dubai fans were left with more concerns as he appeared to be without Shirley on the vacation. According to Yahoo! News, Dave filmed a video from Birmingham airport alone and fans assumed that Shirley would be joining him soon. However, when that didn’t happen they were left concerned about their marital status. Dave quickly put these rumours to rest as he confirmed he’s missing Shirley as ‘she puts the stability in my life.’
After this concern was over, many fans flocked to Dave’s comment section to confirm if the couple would be returning to the popular Channel 4 show. One wrote:
Hi David I hear you’re leaving please don't I think you two are brilliant and funny [crying emoji]
Dave was quick to give relief to his fans for this rumour too as he wrote:
No, we are not leaving.
The comment was posted under a picture of his son enjoying his time in Dubai.

While some took the opportunity of the photo to ask Dave about the show, others couldn't help but swoon over the couple's rarely-seen son. Many fans pointed out that Dave and Shirley’s 44-year-old son Simon, 44, is ‘hot’ as he was shirtless in the snap.
Although Dave and Shirley have been on the show for almost a decade, they have kept their personal life largely out of the limelight. They rarely post their son and the last post that got traction was in May 2024 where fans pointed out he looked much like his dad, reports The Sun.
The couple posted a video of Simon as he competed in the Newport marathon and finished it in 3 hours 46 minutes.
Apart from Simon, the couple also have a daughter, Gemma, 36. They are also dog parents and have a two-year-old bulldog, Blue.
The lovely Welsh couple hails from Caerphilly, South Wales valleys and not too far out of Cardiff. The two are happily married and have been together for over 40 years, reports Heart Radio.
Dave and Shirley were massive fans of the show before they were spotted by a casting agent in 2015. Apart from being on TV, the couple also has normal jobs. Dave works as a cleaner in a factory and Shirley works in retail.
