However, this seems to have changed over recent months, since he joined Donald Trump's inner circle. One of the mothers of his many children, Grimes, recently revealed she does not want her kids in the spotlight.

Grimes 'begged' Elon Musk to keep their children 'offline'

Elon Musk and singer Grimes have got three children together: X Æ A-Xii aka X, who is 4, Exa Dark Sideræl, 3, and Techno Mechanicus, 2.

The mother of the three kids has been outspoken about her desire for her children to stay out of the spotlight and live privately. Recently she claimed that she tried 'begging' Musk to keep their kids 'offline'. She said:

I have tried begging the public and my kids dad to keep them offline, and I've tried legal recourse.

Grimes said this in response to a question on a fake post that was published on her X account, which details the sexual lives of Fortune 500 CEOs. The musician was clarifying that this post was not created by her, to which a netizen wrote:

How to protect your children from this? Can't you wipe this garbage from the internet?

Grimes then proceeded to explain that she 'doesn't control the internet' and hence cannot erase the fake posts that were made on her account and that are now being circulated online. She then explained she also is worried about her children. She added:

The state of my children's lives being public is of grave concern to me and I think about how to solve this every day. It's insane to me that theres no way to deal with this .

I would hope there was some law that would allow a parent to veto small children from living public lives but I don't even trust the law to help me now if I tried to invoke it tbh

Given Musk's controversial persona and now new government job, having control over her children's image and assuring they live away from the public has been getting harder from Grimes. It also doesn't help that the tech mogul has been taking their eldest son X to the Oval Office.

Since he became the head of DOGE, Elon Musk has been appearing alongside his son X more oten. The child was seen in a meeting with Donald Trump in the Oval Office, after which Grimes responded to a post making it clear that she was unhappy:

He should not be in public like this. I did not see this, thank u for alerting me. But I'm glad he was polite. Sigh.

On 25 February 2025, Grimes also raised the issue during an interview with Time, saying:

I would really like people to stop posting images of my kid everywhere. I think fame is something you should consent to. Obviously, things will just be what they are. But I would really, really appreciate that.

On 14 March 2025, photos and videos of little X were plastered all over the internet again—this time alongside Donald Trump. The two were walking on the White House South Lawn toward Marine Force One.
