Among all these feuds, one really stands out. It involves Winona Ryder and this one famous celebrity, who were former friends.
Winona Ryder’s celebrity feud
The Stranger Things actor allegedly had her biggest feud with none other than Gwyneth Paltrow. They often partied together, in the early and mid-90s. Being crowned as the ‘it’ girls of the 1990s, the two stars enjoyed a warm friendship, until things went south. And the duo is allegedly still feuding over what happened between them.
Winona Ryder vs Gwyneth Paltrow
The former friends fell apart when Ryder was allegedly supposed to play the role of Viola de Lesseps in the 1998 romantic drama Shakespeare in Love. As per Express UK, Ryder and Paltrow were hanging out at Ryder’s house, when the script of Shakespeare in Love was left on the table. The Iron Man actress allegedly stole the script, and got an audition for the role, eventually bagging it.
Post-Shakespeare in Love
The movie that was originally rumored to be in Winona’s pocket went on to do incredibly well at the Oscars. And Paltrow even won an award for Best Actress. This apparently didn’t sit well with Ryder, and their friendship broke off on very bad terms. As per The Mirror, the Emma actress always vehemently denied these accusations. And deems them as mere ‘urban myths’. She claims that it was Ryder’s jealousy that made her make up ‘these lies’.
The two actors are apparently still on bad terms and haven’t spoken to each other in years. And Paltrow has allegedly even referred to Ryder as a ‘frenemy’ in one of her interviews.
