Gwyneth Paltrow suffers from late effects COVID-19

The actress is still suffering from the late effects of her illness. This takes the form of long-lasting fatigue and, as she calls it, 'brain fog.' In January, her inflammation levels were still very high.

To fight it, she has since been on a keto and plant-based diet and has given up sugar and alcohol. She also fasts until 11 o'clock in the morning. In addition to her diet, the Goop promoter relies on dietary supplements such as zinc and vitamin C.

She writes about all of this on her blog on her Goop website, promoting numerous highly expensive products sold by the wellness products and lifestyle company she founded.

Medical experts warn against Gwyneth Paltrow's statements

There is now a hail of criticism for this. Including from some surprising sources such as Huffpost. Medical experts also warn against the spread of misinformation by influencers like Paltrow.

Stephen Powis, medical director of the National Health Service in England, believes that people like Gwyneth Paltrow have a duty of responsibility and care here. That is, mostly a duty to stay out of topics they have no expertise in whatsoever.

COVID-19 is a serious disease that requires serious science

Other doctors also criticise Paltrow's (unnecessary) high intake of food supplements, which they say would only lead to expensive urine, as most of her additional vitamins are water soluble and unused compounds are flushed out daily in pee.

They warn that Paltrow's eating habits could lead to eating disorders in some people. Instead, experts recommend taking it slow in the case of late effects and even getting medical and psychological help if necessary.
