Naturally, Warwick has paid a very loving tribute to his ‘favourite human’ alongside their two children, Harrison and Annabelle. As we pay our respects to Samantha Davis, we shall share some of her life, including her acting career.
Samantha Davis was also a great supporter of her husband and helped him found a charity for people with dwarfism, which as many people know, is a condition that Warwick and Samantha Davis have.
Samantha Davis has died age 53
As reported by BBC News, Warwick Davis announced today, April 18, that his beloved wife, Samantha Davis has passed away at the age of 53, on March 24. In the announcement, the Harry Potter starshared a tribute to his wife and mother of his children.
Davis explained that his wife’s death has ‘left a huge hole’ in his family’s life. In a heartbreaking confession he explained:
I miss her hugs.
Warwick goes on to explain that Samantha, or Sammy as he called her, was his ‘most trusted confidant and an ardent supporter of everything I did in [his] career’.
He added:
She was a unique character, always seeing the sunny side of life she had a wicked sense of humour and always laughed at my bad jokes.
The couple’s two children, Harrison and Annabelle also paid tribute to their mother and said that the love she had for them ‘carried [them] through [their] whole lives’.
Mum is our best friend and we're honoured to have received a love like hers.
It has not been announced the cause of death, but according to BBC News, Warwick had previously explained that Samantha’s mobility had declined but she was ‘determined that it would not impact her quality of life’.
A look into Samantha Davis’ career
As mentioned above, Samantha Davis is also an actor. As per BBC News, she starred in the children’s series Through the Dragon's Eye (1989) and she also starred as a Gringotts Goblin in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 (2010).
Samantha’s career goes beyond acting. Indeed, in 2012, Samantha and Warwick founded the charity Little People UK to help those who live with dwarfism and those individuals’ families. In his tribute, Warwick said that his wife was ‘passionate about helping people’ and that she ‘had time for everyone’.
Moreover, Warwick Davis revealed that if it hadn't been for Samantha, some projects would have never happened:
Without Sammy, there would have been no Tenable quiz show, no Willow series. No Idiot Abroad Series 3.
Warwick and Samantha met on the set of the film Willow in 1988 and the two tied the knot three years later, in 1991, as per Sky News.
