After a long and hard battle, Chrissy shared even more heartbreaking news, revealing she will ‘never be pregnant again.’
The mum of two revealed that she and husband John Legend would not be trying for another child. Chrissy announced the news in an Instagram post, showing that three months later, she still bared the signs of her lost pregnancy. Teigen wrote:
This is me and my body, just yesterday. Even though I’m no longer pregnant, every glance in the mirror reminds me of what could have been. And I have no idea why i still have this bump, honestly. It’s frustrating.
The star continued to write that she is still proud of all that her body has been through and admitted that she was sad that she would never experience pregnancy again:
It’s frustrating. But I’m proud of where this entire journey took my body and mind in other ways. I love being pregnant, so so much, and I’m sad I never will be again. But I am lucky to have two amazing little ones who are transforming into big little people more and more every single day. Anyhoo. Love u guys. Xx
Chrissy Teigen opens up about miscarriage
Back in September, the Lip Sync star revealed that she had lost her son Jack at 20 weeks. Teigen revealed that for a month she was on bed rest trying to get her son to the 28 week point, a period which is considered more ‘safe for the baby’. However, Teigen also revealed she was diagnosed with partial placenta abruption. She wrote in a social media post:
...We monitored it very closely, hoping for things to heal and stop. In bed, I bled and bled, lightly but all day, changing my own diapers every couple of hours when the blood got uncomfortable to lay in.
Chrissy went on to reveal the traumatising moments of ‘deep sadness’ when she knew she couldn’t go through with the pregnancy:
After a couple nights at the hospital, my doctor told me exactly what I knew was coming - it was time to say goodbye. He just wouldn’t survive this, and if it went on any longer, I might not either.
The star was praised by many for being brave enough to share her devastating experience online as the subject of miscarriage is often taboo. The cookbook writer shared a series of black and white images of herself and John Legend saying goodbye to their son, stating that the images were ‘only for the people that need them’.
Despite the loss of Jack and the decision to not have any more children, Chrissy and John are still the parents of two beautiful children, four-year-old Luna and two-year-old Miles.
