Laura Whitmore and Iain Stirling have to be one of TV’s hottest power couples right now. The presenter and comedian have been dating since 2017 after meeting for the first time at an ITV party the year before. They moved in together in December 2018 and this January became co-workers when Laura became the new presenter of Love Island.

Last week, speculation mounted that the couple had gotten engaged after Laura was spotted wearing a whopping new diamond on her ring finger in an Instagram post. Now, a family friend of Laura and Iain has spoken to The Sun to confirm the rumours and spill the beans about the proposal and engagement.
They revealed that Iain popped the question to Laura whilst they were on holiday in South Africa this February, following the filming of the winter series of Love Island. They reportedly kept the engagement a secret for over a month before recently letting their families know about their happy news.
The insider told the tabloid:
They couldn't be happier. We're thrilled for them. He'd obviously thought about it for a while, as he designed the ring and yellow's her favourite colour... Their wedding plans are on hold due to the lockdown but it's lovely to have a wedding to come.
Whilst Laura and Iain may have had their wedding plans put on hold for the moment, they don’t seem to be letting anything get them down – as they’ve been sharing plenty of videos with fans of the way they’re keeping their spirits up whilst self-isolating together through the coronavirus crisis. What a couple!
