Moreover, ITV’s Dancing on Ice has been axed after 19 years. As a result, Willoughby currently doesn’t have a show with ITV. So what does this mean for Holly, who has been working with ITV since 2004?
Holly Willoughby’s company under fire
As reported by The Sun, Holly Willoughby’s company, Roxy Media, has been given a winding-up order, which means the company hasn’t been able to pay its debts. Roxy Media was set up by Willoughby and her husband, Dan Baldwin, back in January 2008.
On April 16, a hearing at the Insolvency and Companies Court took place. During the hearing, it was revealed that Roxy Media had settled a sum of £377,000 with the taxman; however, it was not disclosed how much of the bill remained to be paid.
It was decided by the judge that the case would be adjourned for 12 weeks, meaning the next hearing is set for July 9.
Holly Willoughby isn’t the first celebrity to face similar money troubles with her company. Indeed, Eamonn Holmes and Gary Lineker have faced similar issues over whether a presenter using a personal company is taxed as self-employed or as a direct employee, per The Sun.
Willoughby’s money woes come as ITV axed Dancing on Ice, leaving Holly without a project with the broadcaster.
What’s next for Holly Willoughby?
As mentioned above, Dancing on Ice has been axed by ITV. This decision has reportedly left Holly Willoughby without a show, despite having worked with ITV since 2004.
On the other hand, Holly’s co-host, Stephen Mulhern, has other shows including Catch Phrase and You Bet! – which he also co-hosted with Willoughby, although she pulled out of the second series.
Per Mirror, Willoughby pulled out of the second series of You Bet! as it reportedly clashed with her filming Netflix’s Celebrity Bear Hunt, produced by her husband’s production company, Hungry Bear.
According to reports, Holly’s Netflix show is her only current project. However, a source told Mirror that even though Willoughby doesn’t have any upcoming projects with ITV, she’s ‘sure to be back soon’.
According to Mirror, there are rumours that Holly signed a £1 million deal with the broadcasting company for a 'trio of new shows'. The rumours suggest that Willoughby will be given a new Saturday night show and a quiz or game show as the company ‘battled to keep their golden girl’. So far, however, nothing has been announced.
That being said, a spokesperson for ITV explained that even though Holly couldn’t commit to the new series of You Bet!, they hope she will be ‘a guest panellist’.
Unfortunately, Holly couldn't commit to the dates to host the new series of You Bet!, but will hopefully appear as a guest panellist on one of the shows in the new series.
