Actress Shannen Doherty has opened up about living with stage 4 breast cancer in a new TV interview. TheCharmed and 90210 star was initially diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015. She went into remission in 2017, but the disease sadly returned two years later. Last year, she confirmed that she is now living with stage 4 breast cancer.

Appearing on Good Morning America, Doherty revealed that she is continuing to work as well as spend time with friends and family. She said:
A lot of people who get diagnosed with Stage IV, they sort of get written off. It's assumed that they cannot work or they can't work at their full capacity, and that is not true... I think work was always very fulfilling to me, but in a way, it's become even more fulfilling.
Shannen Doherty’s upcoming projects
Doherty has a number of upcoming film projects—including a role in Lifetime movie List of a Lifetime about a woman named Brenda (played by Kelly Hu) who is diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer and sets out to find the daughter she gave up for adoption years earlier. She’s also rumoured to be reprising her role as Rene Mosier in upcoming Mallrats sequel Twilight of the Mallrats.
What is Stage 4 breast cancer?
Stage 4 breast cancer is also known as secondary breast cancer or metastatic breast cancer. It is when the cancer has spread to other parts of the body. Secondary breast cancer is incurable but it can be controlled. Modern treatments can allow patients with stage 4 breast cancer to live with the disease for many years.
