However, she moved to Los Angeles in 2006 and has been navigating Hollywood while keeping her personal life largely out of the spotlight ever since. Recently, she made headlines not only for reprising her role in the Motherland spin-off Amandaland but also for revealing the challenges of LA fires—which even put Harry and Meghan’s house at high risk.

Lucy Punch’s private family life with partner and two kids

Despite her success, Lucy has maintained a level of privacy when it comes to her family. As reported by Daily Mail, she shares two children—nine-year-old Rex and a three-year-old son whose name remains undisclosed—with her partner, artist Dinos Chapman.

Dinos Chapman is a British visual artist who first gained recognition as part of the Chapman Brothers duo with his brother, Jake Chapman. Their work included incarnations of hell, Nazi, Freudian, apocalyptic, and Biblical themes which earned them a nomination for Turner Prize in 2003.

After the duo split professionally in 2022, Dinos pursued a solo career, continuing his focus on provocative and thought-provoking art. His work includes painting, sculpture, and multimedia projects. While maintaining his artistic career, he also balances family life with Lucy and their two children.

While Lucy usually keeps her personal life under wraps, she recently shared a harrowing experience that deeply affected her family—the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles.

The actress revealed that she and her family were forced to evacuate their home when the fires spread dangerously close. Though their house was miraculously saved, she admitted to feeling torn about whether to remain in LA or return to her native London. She told The Times:

It was shocking and devastating for a lot of friends. It’s like imagining East London flattened - schools, neighbourhoods just gone. How do you get that back? It’s going to be years and years.

She also mentioned that she had ensured her partner and one of her sons, who stayed behind in LA, had their belongings packed in case they needed to flee again. The ordeal, combined with political and social changes in the US, has made her reconsider her future there.

Lucy Punch’s latest project: Amandaland

Despite the recent chaos in her private life, Lucy has been in the spotlight over her role as Amanda in Amandaland, the spin-off of Motherland. The show started airing on BBC One and BBC iPlayer on 5 February 2025.

It follows Amanda’s fall from grace after her divorce forces her to downsize and relocate to South Harlesden, an area quite different from her former posh lifestyle. Determined to rebuild her image, Amanda takes on the world of interior design influencing under the social media handle @Sensuous, as per the TV guide.

Lucy has expressed excitement about the project, stating that Amanda’s character has evolved to become more relatable. However, she told The Times, she is far different from Amanda in real life. She said:

Unlike Amanda I'm disorganised and I'm not good at juggling. I've got two balls, one in each hand. That's it, that's as much as I can manage.

The show will be Lucy’s first act as a lead role.
