Jamie Lynn Spears and Jamie Watson met through a mutual friend and began an on-and-off relationship, as per People. The couple got engaged in March 2013 and then tied the knot a year later on March 14, 2014, in New Orleans.
Spears and Watson celebrated their 9th wedding anniversary in March 2023. In an Instagram post for their 8th wedding anniversary, Jamie Lynn shared some insight into the couple’s relationship. She wrote:
I was an 18 year old single mom, when this guy came into my life, he made me laugh more then I ever had before, and his never changing consistency gave me stability for the first time in my life. I felt a sense of peace with him, and I think that's what being in love is suppose to feel like, just feeling at peace.
Jamie Watson is a low-key businessman and despite being married to a celebrity, he didn’t know who Jamie Lynn Spears was when they first met. In the 2016 TLC special, Jamie Lynn Spears: When the Lights Go Out, Watson revealed:
I'm just a normal guy with a normal job. I did not know about the family. I didn't know she had a TV show. I didn't know anything about her.

Jamie Lynn Spears is a mum of two daughters, Maddie and Ivey. Her first daughter, Maddie Briann Aldridge was born on June 19, 2008, Jamie Lynn was only 17 years old at the time. Maddie’s father is Spears’ high school boyfriend, Casey Aldridge, who reportedly picked out the name himself, as per Women’s Health Magazine.
Jamie Lynn’s second daughter, Ivey Joan was born on April 11, 2018, after being married to Watson for 4 years. Spears revealed that her second daughter is named after her aunt who died of ovarian cancer.
She told People:
Her middle name, Joan, is to honor my Aunt Sandra, who passed away 10 years ago from ovarian cancer. She was the most graceful woman I've ever known.
Jamie Lynn told People in 2018 that her husband has a great relationship with her first daughter Maddie and is a great stepdad.
Just seeing the way he was with Maddie and the way he just fit right in — it wasn't like I ever had to tell him anything. Their relationship is so sweet.
